COVID-19 Update

May 1, 2020 - Please check the information on our Pandemic web page, which is updated as circumstances change. You will find information there on specific policies for the Oklahoma Territorial Plaza (splash pad, playground, outdoor pavilions, and rental spaces), in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Splash Pad

May 29, 2020 - The splash pad will reopen. Spaces at the parks, including the splash pad, are not disinfected regularly. People utilizing any equipment or spaces do so at their own risk.

The Oklahoma Territorial Plaza

The Oklahoma Territorial Plaza is a six acre park located at 750 N. Plaza Dr, just south of the intersection of Highway 33/US 177. It is a joint project of the City of Perkins, the Perkins Community Foundation, and the Oklahoma Territorial Plaza Trust. The Plaza incorporates many methods to interpret and exhibit the history, culture, and art of our community and the evolution of Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory into the State of Oklahoma.

If you are looking for a place to hold a special event such as a wedding, reception, shower, meeting, or reunion, the Vassar Community Center and the Old Church are available for rental. The cost is $185 for a half-day - 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. to midnight, or $335 for a full-day. There is a $100 deposit required when reservations are made (fully refundable if all criteria is met).

Social distancing protocols are required for all rentals of City of Perkins public spaces effective May 15, 2020, per Oklahoma’s Open Up and Recover Safely plan. Please review this information from the CDC regarding Covid-19 safety procedures before scheduling your event.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, the Splash Pad will be open daily 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m during the summer months.

Splash Pad Guidelines:

  • Use sunscreen
  • Shoes are required
  • No lawn chairs on the splash pad
  • Pick up your trash and dispose of it properly
  • No pets on the splash pad
  • No glass in the play area
  • Surfaces may be HOT!
  • Play at your own risk

Note: Pavilion rental does not include the splash pad or playground. The splash pad and playground are for public use.
