JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL CARE – EXEMPT

Reporting to the Executive Director
Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Evenings, weekends, & holidays, and on-call as needed


Key leadership position whose purpose is to provide routine care to residents; observe residents’ health; communicate with patients and their families; maintain health records for residents; train, schedule, and supervise nursing staff; and effectively communicate with resident, family, medical personnel, pharmacy, and staff; in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing long-term care facilities to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to the residents at all times.

ESSENTIAL NURSING FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest, ensuring a positive, calm environment throughout the community.
• Manage and oversee the resident medication delivery system. Ensure systems are in place to monitor same.
• Ensure that each resident receives the necessary care and medical services to attain and maintain the highest possible mental and physical functional status.
• Coordinate with RN to be sure residents’ needs are being met.
• Effectively and consistently communicate information between resident, family, physician, pharmacy, other healthcare providers, and staff on residents’ health care issues.
• Accurately maintain health records for all residents.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
• Participate in the selection and training of new nurse aide staff.
• Supervise and direct nurse aide staff, to include creation of schedules, evaluations of performance, and participation in the disciplinary process.
• Maintain proper documentation and records on all personnel in accordance with applicable regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS
• Current and Valid Oklahoma LPN or RN
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Thorough knowledge of all applicable state regulations governing assisted living
• Satisfactory criminal background check in accordance with state requirements
• Read, write, speak and understand English
• Equipment Operation: Office equipment and various medical equipment such as blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, diabetic equipment, needles, and any other specialized medical equipment needed in order to provide elder/resident care.
• Mental Effort/Skill: Consistent concentration, attention to detail, and knowledge of accurate medication and treatment administration principles. High observation, written and oral communication skills are necessary. This position requires multiple task orientation.
• Work Conditions: Inside environment most of the time, but some outdoor activities to take place.
• Key Physical Tasks: Must be able to participate in one-and two person transfers/lifts and change elder/resident position to accommodate elder/resident mobility needs. Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and body fluids. Must also be able to perform medical treatments as ordered by a physician. Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress. Must be able to tolerate extended periods walking and standing.

JOB TITLE: CMAs and CNAs with MAT

Nurse aides need to be able to work with elderly and be good team players to provide direct care to residents, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with facility policies and procedures and report resident needs and concerns to a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities answering call lights, dressing, bathing, cleaning, helping with activities, assisting with residents. Must respect and encourage the independence and dignity of the residents. Perform other duties assigned.

CMA or CNA with MAT: All CNA responsibilities as above. Follow facility policies and procedures to implement medication orders; to administer medications in an accurate and timely manner.

Must be committed to person-centered care by demonstrating and being supportive of individual resident choice and controlled resident-preferred routines in all aspect of daily living.

Requirements

  • State registered/nursing assistant, who has successfully completed the State certification course for medication assistants.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Drivers License, Meet Motor Vehicle record requirements, determined by Liability Carrier
  • Meet all health requirements imposed by law
  • Completion of a nursing assistant certification program or proof of valid and current certification
