Perkins residents will have an opportunity to purge unwanted and unused items from their closets and garages during the annual Clean-Up Day. The event will be held Saturday, April 30.
The event features an opportunity for town residents to dispose of extra trash and large items free of charge. There will be street side pick-up of trash, furniture, limbs and other items that are able to be crushed. Very large items, which cannot be easily crushed, should be taken to large dumpsters located at the city's west shop at 319 E. Industrial. Entry will be from W. Kenworthy.
The large item dumpsters are available only to Perkins residents. In the past, many out-of town residents used the opportunity to bring trash into town during the event. People who come to drop off items in the dumpsters will be required to prove their residency by showing their driver's license or any utility bill showing an address. The large dumpsters will be at the west shop from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, contact Perkins City Hall at 547-2445 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
