[ARCHIVED] Power Lines and Tree Limbs - STAY SAFE

Live power lines are down around town. For your safety, do not drive around barricades or emergency vehicles. No update from OGE at this time. Please click to read entire message.

There are numerous power lines down in town. We are placing emergency vehicles or barricades as fast as we can. DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES AS THEY ARE THERE FOR YOUR SAFETY. Death is a very real possibility if you come in contact with an energized power line. Just because they are down does not mean they are safe.

Crews are removing trees from the roadway in an effort to have roads open for emergency vehicles should they need to get to you. However, we will not be able to start any sort of clean-up until this event is over. We will announce a clean-up plan for the tree debris as this event comes to an end.

Please hunker down and stay safe.  OG&E has about 160,000 customers without service at this time.  We are communicating with them but there is not an estimated time power will be restored. Do your best and prepare for the long haul.

City Hall is open. Please call us for information and assistance (405) 547-2445.
