The City of Perkins is accepting applications for a full-time Utility Billing Clerk. Reporting to the Administrative Coordinator, the Utility Billing Clerk is responsible for all utility billing and meter reading functions, and plays a key customer service role, including responding to difficult customer inquiries and problems. The position will also coordinate closely with administration and field staff in the execution of his or her duties. Other responsibilities include: ensuring the integrity of the City’s billing and meter reading systems and processes, including maintaining accurate billing, payment, and customer accounting records; identifying and troubleshooting problematic meters; managing service requests; and developing analyses and reporting. The person in this position will be knowledgeable about all city departments and services and will provide excellent customer service, while serving as a public face for the City of Perkins.

Hours & Wage: The Utility Billing Clerk is a full-time position working 40 hours per week; salary range is $31,200-$35,360 per year ($14.00-$17.00 per hour) based on experience. This position does not allow for a flexible work schedule. The hours are Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. with an unpaid lunch break. Due to the nature of the job, there are days of the month when attendance is required. 

All City of Perkins full-time staff are considered essential and may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
